About

An engineering team, not a staffing desk.

HariKrishna IT Solutions is an offshore software engineering team based in India. We build, extend and modernize the software organisations actually depend on, and we go deepest on the Microsoft stack.

A lot of the work that reaches us has the same shape. There is a system the business depends on, written some years ago, whose original authors have moved on. The documentation, if it exists, describes an earlier version. Every change is slower and riskier than the last one, and a rewrite has been discussed and shelved more than once because nobody can afford the downtime.

The rest is what comes next for those systems: a new service or API alongside them, a front end that does not fight the browser, a database that has outgrown its original schema, a move to Azure or AWS, and increasingly an AI step somewhere in a workflow that used to need a person reading a document. It is all the same job, which is making software behave predictably under constraints that were set before we arrived.

We are less useful on a greenfield product with no constraints and no existing system to respect. That work is usually better done by a team sitting in the same room as the people deciding what it should be.

How we are set up

We work as an extension of an existing team rather than as a separate vendor with its own process. Our engineers commit to your repository, follow your review standards, and join your stand-ups. You should be able to read the commit history and see what happened without asking us for a status report.

Working from India gives us meaningful working-hours overlap with Europe, Asia-Pacific and the US East Coast. That matters less for the code and more for the questions: a developer who can get an answer in twenty minutes makes better decisions than one who has to guess and wait a day to find out if the guess was right.

What we will tell you

If a piece of work sits outside what we do well, we will say so before the contract rather than after. If a technology is new to us, we will tell you it is new to us. If a change we made did not improve the number we said it would improve, that goes in the report too.

The writing on this site is the clearest picture of how we think. It is written by the engineers doing the work, and it covers the trade-offs and the things that did not go to plan, not just the outcomes.
